The property features a guest house, tennis courts, a media room, pool, spa, and oddly, a large kennel.

Daphne Guinness, the famed beer heiress and fashion icon, has finally sold her apartment inside the Stanhope Hotel at a loss, according to The Real Deal.

The apartment sold for $11.3 million, $430,000 less than she paid for it in 2008.

The apartment has four bedrooms and spans 4,118 square feet.

It has been a tumultuous few months for Guinness, who just also settled a lawsuit with her neighbors.

Guinness' overflowing bathtub caused damage to her neighbors' apartments three different times. In September, a judge ruled she must pay for the damages, but she got out of paying an additional $1 million for her neighbors' alleged emotional distress.

An Architect's Mirrored Mansion With A Complicated Past Is Back On The Market For $27.5 Million

The glassy New York City home the late architect Paul Rudolph designed for himself is back on the market for $27.5 million, according to Curbed.

23 Beekman Place, which is comprised of four units — a one-bedroom, two two-bedroom duplexes, and the three-story penthouse — was landmarked by the city in 2010.

Rudolph bought the home in 1976 and then added the multi-story penthouse, according to the listing. The penthouse won two awards from the American Institute of Architecture.

Rudolph really went all out designing the pad and used it a laboratory of sorts, according to a 2006 article about a renovation of the home in New York Magazine.

During the renovation, architects Jared Della Valle and Andrew Bernheimer found all kinds of weird things in the walls, such as buried mirrors and Mylar. Rudolph had apparently used those materials to reflect light and make his home seem brighter and more spacious.

The duo used Rudolph's hidden objects as inspiration, but incorporated modern day materials into the house.

Architects were torn over the changes to Rudolph's original design. The building has since been landmarked, and now the apartment is back on the market, being sold by an unnamed LLC.

New York City's skyline is about to be altered once again.

City officials and developers will officially break ground today on the Hudson Yards complex on Manhattan's Far West Side, according to The New York Daily News.

The complex will be comprised of 15 buildings and cost $15 billion to construct.

One of the buildings will be a 75-story mixed-use residential and commercial building. Another will be an office building that is taller than the Empire State Building.

In total, the complex will offer more office space than exists in all of Portland, Ore., according to the Daily News.

Related Companies chairman Stephen Ross told the NY Daily News, “If you look at where all the young people are today, where they want to be, where all the money is going, it’s the West Side of Manhattan. ... The yards will be the epicenter of all that.”

The first phase of construction should be completed by 2017.

Hudson Yards is being built on 26 acres of land on Manhattan's West Side.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is leasing the land to developers for more than $1 billion for 99 years, according to The New York Daily News.

For Wealthy Foreigners, NYC Apartments Are 'Safe Deposit Boxes With Views'

one57 view from 86th floor

In CNBC's latest episode of "Secret Lives Of The Super Rich: Mega Homes," which aired last night, three Chinese buyers fought over one $4 million New York City apartment.

CNBC reporter Robert Frank gave the perfect analogy for what foreign buyers are actually doing with real estate. He said:

The reason it's raining money on Manhattan real estate right now is because of the foreign super rich. They are trying to stuff as much money as possible from overseas here. These aren't apartments they are buying; they are safe deposit boxes with views.

Because of changing laws and economic turbulence overseas, the foreigner buyers see New York City real estate as a solid investment. Glitzy new buildings like the still-under-construction One57 building in Midtown are especially popular with foreigners.

All three of the buyers on CNBC's special were trying to snatch up the apartment for their college-aged students, so that besides a safe deposit box, it would also serve as a "luxury dorm in the sky."

Frank Gehry's Undulating NYC Highrise Was Just Named The World's Best New Skyscraper

8 spruce street gehry

Each year, the world's newest skyscrapers are pitted against each other for the Emporis Skyscraper Award. Chosen for its aesthetic and functional design by the team of editors from the construction project database, the winner of this year's renowned prize was none other than 8 Spruce Street in New York City.

Also known as New York by Gehry and The Beekman, 8 Spruce Street was designed by Frank Gehry and completed in 2011. It is the first skyscraper by the renowned architect, and won over the Emporis jury with its undulating stainless steel exterior.

"8 Spruce Street stands out even in Manhattan's already remarkable skyline," the Emporis jury said of its choice, culled from 220 skyscrapers completed in 2011. "It is a major new architectural landmark for New York."

It is not the only of Manhattan's famous buildings to win the award — the Hearst Tower won in 2006 as well as the Sofitel New York Hotel back in 2000.

Though it was only completed a year ago, Gehry's building has already become a part of the New York skyline.

It's located on Spruce Street in the Financial District close to the Brooklyn Bridge.

The building stands 870 feet above the streets of Manhattan, higher than many helicopters fly in the city.

Chateau Bellefont Belcier, france bulldozed manor

A beloved French chateau in the village of Yvrac in Bordeaux was mistakenly bulldozed, according to the Associated Press.

Construction workers apparently "misunderstood" renovation plans for the 18th century chateau and destroyed the entire manor.

The current owner, Russian businessman Dmitry Stroskin, had wanted to clean up the manor and "restore it to its former baroque glory," according to the AP.

He was out of town when the construction began and returned home to find nothing but rubble.

Stroskin reportedly told the local media, "I'm in shock ...I understand the turmoil of the community."

The home was a "local treasure," according to the AP. It spanned 140,000 square feet and had a grand hall that could fit 200 people.

Now, it's just dust and rocks.

Eleven months after it hit the market, Montana's Broken O Ranch has sold to billionaire St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke, according to The Wall Street Journal.

At $132.5 million, the spread was one of the most expensive ranch properties ever to ever hit the market. The sale price has not been disclosed.

HOUSE OF THE DAY: Tamara Ecclestone Eyes The $125 Million Mansion Her Sister Tried To Buy

tamara ecclestone house

Talk about a sibling rivalry. Just over a year after Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone dropped $85 million on Holmby Hills' famous Spelling Mansion, her sister Tamara is rumored to be looking at an even more expensive home in the same neighborhood.

According to The Sun, Tamara "is desperate to buy" the Fleur de Lys estate, also in Holmby Hills, which returned to the market last year with a $125 million asking price. Tamara, 28, is reportedly moving from London to the U.S. to film a reality TV show.

The home, owned by philanthropist Suzanne Saperstein, has 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a ballroom, two kitchens, a massive movie theater, a pool, tennis courts, and a nine-car garage.

Here's where the sibling rivalry comes in. Shortly before Petra, 23, bought the Spelling Mansion, she reportedly made an $80 million offer on Fleur de Lys, but was turned down by Saperstein, notes celebrity real estate blogger The Real Estalker.

If Tamara winds up in the home, it will be a major coup for the older sister.

Fleur de Lys has a gated entrance on North Carolwood Drive, one of Holmby Hills' most exclusive addresses.

The house, on four acres of land, was built in 2002.

The CEO of Yammer famously rented the house for his 40th birthday bash over the summer.
